INSTRUCTIONS : Answer all the questions.
01. Write an example to show how we use the concept of sorting in day to day life.

02. Primitive man used a pre number concept “one to one correspondence” to know about his sheep. What can you find from this concept ?

03. In order to understand that 3 is less than 5 or 3 is included in 5 we use a certain pre number concept. Name the concept and explain how you introduce it.

04. Explain briefly how you develop the pre number concept ‘invariance’ among pre school children.

05. We say that a certain figure has bilateral symmetry. How do you show that ?

06. An object has the shape of a rectangle. How do you know that ?

07. There are two sets of objects on table. A child selects one object from one set and another similar object from the other set. What is the pre number concept involved in this situation ?

08. What do you mean by the term ‘ordering’ ? Give an example from day to day life.

09. There is a poster having a river, a bridge over the river and a boat. A teacher hopes to develop the concept of neighbourhood. Write the questions that the teacher should ask the pupils.

10. In introducing the numerals to pupils a teacher starts with ‘rote counting’. What is the purpose of rote counting ?

11. Draw a suitable visual to find out whether the pre school children can identify numbers less than five.

12. Explain how you would introduce the method of writing the numerals to pre school children.
13. We use the integration method to instruct pre school pupils. What do you mean by integration ?
14. What do you mean by the term ‘capacity’ of a vessel ?
15. In developing the concept of length we use a certain procedure. Write the steps of the procedure.
